Docs / NVXBMDWI BMD Wage Import / General General
The BMD Wage Import Interface extends Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with the ability to effortlessly import payroll data from BMD software into BC.
All functions can be accessed in the general search:
File formats
Import files can be created from BMD using the following formats:
"NAV Export" - BUERFL (old BMD format).
"BMD-Posting Doc." (comma-separated values)

You can access the required facilities using the "BMD Wage Import Setup" function.
Dimension Code for cost center
BMD can pass a cost center. If this value is to be transferred to the Journal as a dimension value, enter the corresponding dimension here.

BMD can pass a cost unit. If this value is to be transferred to the Journal as a dimension value, enter the corresponding dimension here.

Specify the default value for importing the posting lines.
G/L Account Mapping

File format
Enter the desired file format for the import. See "General" -> File formats.
No. of Digits Cost Center, No. of Digits Cost Unit

If you enter nothing here (value zero), then all leading zeros will be removed during the import.
If you enter a value > 0, then the value will be truncated right-justified to the specified number of digits. Leading zeros within this number of digits are not removed.
E.g. value in import file is 0000001234
with number of digits 0 -> 1234 is taken over
at number of digits 6 -> 001234 is taken over
at number of digits 3 -> 234 will be taken over

The "BMD Import Wage Data" function allows you to import the BMD wage file data into a BC general journal
BMD Import Wage Data
The gen. journal (template and batch) is taken from the setup and can be changed here.
A document number must be specified, which will be used to generate the posting lines in the gen. journal.
You can modify or delete - or post - the data in the gen. journal.
The import into the gen. journal can be done as often as required.
Caution
Currentky only the import format BUERFL supports the linetype = 1.
Linetype 1 is used to split a journal line into different cost centers or cost units (these are then the dimensions according to the setup in Business Central) when importing into Business Central. During the import, it can happen that several journal lines with different cost centers/cost units (or dimension values) will be created for an imported line with line type 0 in Business Central.
